Service Description

This is available as an add-on service with a standard maintenance wash. However, it is (free) included with all other complete detailing services. The application of Aquapel Glass Treatment consists of 3 steps: machine polishing with 3M glass polishing compound, removal of polishing compound and residual surface contaminants with a solution containing IPA and surfactants followed by the application of Aquapel itself. Unlike conventional products such as the familiar brand, "Rain-X", Aquapel forms a semi-permanent chemical bond with automotive windshields and glass that lasts a minimum of six months. The benefits of having a hydrophobic (water beads up and sheets off like magic) layer of protection is to eliminate friction between the water and glass. When your vehicle gets up to speed, right around 40 mph in velocity, any water that makes contact with the windshield will blow off (it often appears like the droplets themselves are bouncing off the surface). It's a fascinating and very rewarding product which, because of the drastically reduced friction, allows the wipers to glide (no squeeking or skipping) effortlessly. This, too, prolongs the lifespan of the blades.
